Convicted drug offender arrested in Taguig

Police arrested a 40-year-old man who was convicted by a court for possession of illegal drugs in Taguig.

The Taguig police identified the arrested man as alias Jefferson, a resident of Barangay Hagonoy, Taguig and listed as the No. 9 most wanted person (station level) for February.

He was nabbed by the police on Feb. 4 along Dimasalang Street in Barangay Hagonoy.

The arrest was implemented by personnel of the Taguig police's Warrant and Subpoena Section together with operatives of the Special District Investigation Team of the National Capital Region's Regional Intelligence Unit.

This was based on a warrant of arrest for service of sentence for a case for violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) issued on Jan. 14 by Presiding Judge Marivic Cudilla Vitor of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 266.

He was brought to the Taguig City Health Office for medical examination. The warrant of arrest will be returned to the court.
