A vintage bomb was unearthed by construction workers digging near the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP Diliman) Institute of Chemistry-Teaching Building on Tuesday morning, Feb. 3.
Initial investigation by the police said the bomb was found by the workers at around 10:15 a.m. as they were conducting building works for a soon-to-be-built driveway.
The discovery prompted school officials to immediately suspend classes and evacuate all students and staff who were inside the building.
Responding Quezon City Police District Explosive Ordinance Division (QCPD-EOD) operatives safely retrieved the found bomb at around 11:35 a.m.
