President Marcos maintains 'neutral' net satisfaction rating, SWS survey shows

Filipinos’ satisfaction with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stayed nearly unchanged in the last quarter of 2025, with 40 percent satisfied, 43 percent dissatisfied, and 17 percent undecided, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Tuesday, Feb. 3 showed.
The Fourth Quarter 2025 survey, conducted from Nov. 24 to 30 with 1,200 adults nationwide, recorded a net satisfaction rating of -3 (percentage of satisfied minus percentage of dissatisfied), which SWS classifies as “neutral” (+9 to -9).
The SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings is as follows: +70 and above, “excellent”; +50 to +69, “very good”; +30 to +49, “good”; +10 to +29, “moderate”; +9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to -69, “very bad”; and -70 and below, “execrable.”
SWS noted that President Marcos’ latest net rating was a slight improvement from neutral -5 in September 2025, after a steep decline from moderate +10 in June 2025.
By region, President Marcos’ net satisfaction was highest in Balance Luzon at moderate +13, followed by the Visayas at neutral +2, Metro Manila at poor -17, and Mindanao at poor -29.
Compared with September 2025, net satisfaction rose by 10 points in the Visayas and by five points in Balance Luzon, but fell by 15 points in Metro Manila and remained largely unchanged in Mindanao.
In rural areas, net satisfaction increased by 17 points, from neutral -8 to neutral +9, while urban areas recorded a decline of 13 points, from neutral -1 to poor -14.
Among women, the President’s net satisfaction rose by five points from poor -11 to neutral -6, while it stayed at net zero among men.
By age group, net satisfaction increased by 20 points among 18-24-year-olds, from bad -34 to poor -14, and by 12 points among 45-54-year-olds, from neutral -3 to neutral +9.
It fell by seven points among 35-44-year-olds, remained at poor -17 among 25-34-year-olds, and dropped by five points among those 55 and older, from moderate +20 to moderate +15.
By education, President Marcos’ net satisfaction was highest among adults with no formal education or some elementary education at moderate +19, followed by elementary graduates at moderate +10, junior high school graduates at neutral -9, and those with some senior high school or college education at poor -14.
Compared with September 2025, it rose by 11 points among those with some senior high school and by seven points among elementary graduates, but fell by eight points among junior high school graduates and remained largely unchanged among non-elementary and college graduates.
