CAVITE – Authorities arrested the suspect in the fatal shooting of a tricycle driver in Dasmariñas City on Monday, Feb. 2.
The Cavite Police Provincial office (Cavite PPO) identified the suspect as alias Moises.
Initial investigation says the victim was walking near his residence when the suspect approached him from behind and allegedly shot him using a firearm of an undetermined caliber.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head, causing his death.
Following the incident, Dasmariñas City Component Police Station (Dasmariñas CCPS), under the directive of officer-in-charge Lt. Col. Resty E. Soriano, launched a hot pursuit operation.
Authorities were able to collar alias Moises right away with assistance from barangay officials and eyewitnesses.
The suspect is now under the custody of Dasmariñas CCPS and is facing murder charges.
In a statement, Cavite PPO Director Col. Ariel R. Red commended Dasmariñas CCPS for its commitment to “deliver swift justice, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the safety and security of the community.”
