Starring Empoy Marquez, this family comedy is already getting lots of attention for early 2026.
“Batang Paco” is the first film from MiVida Productions, Inc. It comes from a team that isn’t afraid to try new things. They believe love can make anyone special.
The story is about Paco, a shy tattoo artist who must find the courage he needs most. When his child is taken, Paco is forced into a dangerous world. The story is compelling, but it also highlights the strength of Filipino families and a parent's love.
Empoy’s acting is funny and honest, making Paco easy to relate to. He shows Paco as a real, imperfect person. That’s what makes the film strong.
“Hindi kailangang maging perpekto para maging bayani,” Empoy shares during a media conference in Quezon City. “Kapag pagmamahal na ang nagtutulak sa’yo, may lakas ka na hindi mo inaasahan. (You don't have to be perfect to be a hero. When love drives you, you have strength you never expected."
Set in Metro Manila, “Batang Paco” mixes fun, action, and touching moments.
A strong supporting cast helps tell Paco’s story. The cast includes Ai Ai Delas Alas, Mon Confiado, Ynez Veneracion, Chichi Rita, Cassy Lavarias, and many others.
Directed by Rechie del Carmen and written by Gina Marissa Tagasa, the film reflects MiVida Productions’ goal of telling bold, emotional stories.
For producer Ana Abiera Del Moral, “Batang Paco” helps shape the company's identity.
“This film is personal, fearless, and full of heart,” Ana says. “It’s the kind of story we want MiVida to be known for.”
As “Batang Paco” gets ready for theaters, it reminds us that anyone can be a hero, especially when moved by love.
“Batang Paco” will be shown in cinemas starting Feb. 18.
