Pateros gov't launches education assistance program for college students
The Pateros municipal government launched the first-ever student financial assistance that will benefit college students.
Pateros Mayor Gerald German announced that the Pateros Educational Assistance Program (PEAP) for College Students will start this year.
“Ang ating pangarap na makapagbigay suporta sa mga college students na taga-Pateros sa kanilang pag-aaral ay matutupad na! Sa bisa po ng Municipal Ordinance 2025-42, ang Pateros Educational Assistance Program (PEAP) for College Students ay masisimulan na ngayong 2026 (Our dream of supporting college students from Pateros in their studies is about to come true! By virtue of Municipal Ordinance 2025-42, the Pateros Educational Assistance Program (PEAP) for College Students will begin in 2026),” he said.
He added, “Ito ang kauna-unahang student financial assistance program ng Municipality of Pateros na naglalayong bigyan ng suporta ang isang libong (1,000) college students ng Pateros sa kanilang pag-aaral (This is the first student financial assistance program of the Municipality of Pateros which aims to support one thousand (1,000) college students from Pateros in their studies).”
Each scholar will receive P3,000 per semester or P6,000 per year. Priority under the program are students of the Pateros Technological College, different local and state coleges and universities, and several students in private colleges and universities.
The mayor said to join the scholarship program, students need to apply online at https://forms.gle/A8QNTgCBCrXDzoa88 or get a form from the Office of the Mayor.
Applicants will need to submit a photocopy of school ID or any valid government-issued ID, proof of admission or enrollment, and photocopy of voter's certificate.
The Educational Assistance Committee will assess all applications to select 1,000 beneficiaries. Those who will pass will receive a call for the next process.
All applicants who passed will undergo face-to-face screening for the interview and will need to submit additional requirements if needed.
Interview and assessment passers will need to attend an orientation and sign a memorandum of agreement.
Qualified scholars will be called for the awarding of the financial assistance.
Disqualified under the scholarship program are current scholars of the Sangguniang Kabataan, barangay, office of the congressman, and those who receive scholarship from the Pateros municipal government.
Application for the program will be on Feb. 15.
