Marcos seeks Mitsubishi's help in completing subway, railway systems

President Marcos has sought Mitsubishi's support in completing the country's subway and railway projects.

Aside from subway and railway projects, the President also discussed investments and clean wind energy with the Mitsubishi president.
"I met with Mr. Katsuya Nakanishi, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation, to advance investments that will create more jobs, help complete faster and more reliable subway and railway systems, and expand clean wind energy in the provinces," Marcos said, following the meeting.
He said the efforts aim to bolster the country's digital services which provide ease to ordinary Filipinos.
"These efforts will also strengthen digital services that make everyday transactions easier for Filipinos as we continue building a Bagong Pilipinas," Marcos said.
According to Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, Mitsubishi expressed confidence in the country’s robust economy and its continued investments in the Philippines, particularly in the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and financial technology sectors.
"Para sa Pangulo, ang ganitong mga hakbang ng foreign investors na patuloy na mag negosyo sa bansa ay nagpapatunay lamang sa walang patid na pagtitiwala ng mga malalaking kumpanya na mag invest sa Pilipinas (For the President, such actions by foreign investors in continuing to do business in the country only prove the unwavering trust of major companies in investing in the Philippines)," Castro said in a Palace briefing on Monday, Feb. 2.
Mitsubishi Corporation is Japan’s largest general trading and investment company that operates across diverse industries namely environmental energy, materials solution, mineral resources, urban development and infrastructure, mobility, food industry, smart-life creation, and power solution.
It was established in 1954 and operates in over 120 countries.
