Kerwin Espinosa on leave due to impending arrest for murder
ESPINOSA
TACLOBAN CITY – Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa said he is on leave because of an impending arrest warrant for murder against him.
A source said Espinosa was indicted for a murder case in Baybay City in September 2024.
“Wala pa po kaming nareceive na warrant kung anong kaso. But I will face the case kung ano man,” Espinosa said.
(We have not received a for any case. I will face the case if there is one)
He added that the case is another tactic by his political rivals to disrupt his position as mayor just like what they did to his father.
Espinosa said that he has left Albuera but maintained that he is not in hiding.
“We are waiting to any warrant and I will personally submit myself.”
He assured that services and proposed projects will continue in the coming months that he is away with his sister Vice Mayor Mariel Espinosa as in charge, especially the construction of a hospital.
“Do not worry because the truth will prevail,” he said.
The mayor, who said he has been skipping public appearances, last made an update on social media on Jan. 20.
