Gallup Korea survey reveals favorite TV shows in January

Polling firm Gallup Korea unveiled the favorite TV shows in South Korea in January. 

The survey was held from Jan. 20 to 22 among 1,000 respondents aged 18 and older nationwide in South Korea. 

The respondents were asked to name their favorite TV program, excluding news, that they have watched on TV or online video services. Since 2023, Gallup Korea has included programs on OTT platforms in the survey. 

The 50-episode drama “Our Golden Days,” starring Jung Il-woo, Jung In-sun and Yoon Hyun-min, took the No. 1 spot with 4.5 percent. 

Netflix’s “Culinary Class Wars” season 2 placed second, garnering 4.3 percent. 

The competition TV show “Miss Trot 4” is No. 3 with 3.9 percent, followed by the variety show “I Live Alone” (2.4 percent), and “You Quiz on the Block” with 2.3 percent.

1. Our Golden Days (drama, KBS2) - 4.5% 

2. Culinary Class Wars Season 2 (web variety show, Netflix)  - 4.3% 

3. Miss Trot 4 (variety show, TV Chosun) - 3.9%
