ACEN: Landco's Calatagan resort switches to 100% RE

Ayala-led ACEN Corp. announced that Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Landco Pacific Corp. has shifted operations at its Batangas resort to full renewable energy (RE).

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Monday, Feb. 2, Landco said its Calatagan South Beach (CaSoBe) has partnered with ACEN’s retail electricity supplier, ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), to source its electricity entirely from clean energy sources.

This was made possible by securing a Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), an initiative that allows end-users with a minimum consumption threshold of 100 kilowatts (kW) to choose their RE supplier at a competitive price.

ACEN RES also awarded CaSoBe a “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge. The retail supplier rolled out the badge in 2022 as part of its push to encourage more businesses to adopt clean energy. It serves as recognition for companies that commit to sustainability by shifting to RE. To date, the badge has been displayed at nearly 100 RE-powered facilities nationwide.

Erickson Manzano, Landco’s president and chief executive officer (CEO), said the full transition to RE aligns with the resort’s environmental advocacy.

“By partnering with ACEN RES, we are not only ensuring a greener operation for our resort but also offering our guests a truly sustainable and responsible leisure experience,” he said.

“ACEN RES is proud to support Landco Pacific’s CaSoBe in its decisive transition to 100-percent clean energy. This commitment reflects a growing awareness among major leisure destinations to embrace sustainability,” said Sheila Mina, vice president and head of account management at ACEN RES.

CaSoBe, developed by Landco Pacific and managed by Landco Lifestyle Ventures, is known for its wide range of modern leisure and residential offerings along the pristine coastline of Calatagan, Batangas. The master-planned estate features contemporary resort amenities, including the experiential accommodations of Crusoe Cabins, Apollo Aeropods, and Cupola.
