CAMP MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing a make-up artist in Lobo, Batangas.
The Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) identified the suspect as Roy, a resident of Barangay Damayan Lagi, Quezon City.
Police arrested the suspect in Barangay Ibabang Tayuman, San Francisco, Quezon, on Saturday, Jan. 31.
Investigation said the body of the victim, a 34-year-old man, of Barangay Olo-olo, Lobo, was discovered in Purok 7, Barangay Fabrica, on Jan. 26.
The victim sustained various injuries and a big stone with bloodstains was found nearby. His motorcycle was missing.
The motorcycle was spotted in a beach resort in San Francisco and police launched a follow-up operation where the suspect was arrested with the help of drones.
The suspect was positively identified through surveillance footage obtained in Lobo showing him as the last known companion of the victim.
The suspect faces robbery with homicide and qualified carjacking charges.
Police Col. Geovanny Emerick Sibalo, Batangas police director, lauded operating units for the arrest of the suspect.
