From 'Jumbo Hotdog' to a new beat: The Masculados are back
The Filipino all-male novelty group Masculados, best known for their hit songs "Jumbo Hotdog," "Di Na Bale (2004)," and "Macho Papa," is making a return to the music scene.

In a recent episode of the YouTube show "TicTALK with Aster Amoyo," the group revealed they are working on new material for their upcoming album. This follows their 2023 comeback single, "Babae," written by acclaimed singer-songwriter Lito Camo.
"May kinocompose po siya ngayon na bago naming kanta. Nasabi na po sa amin tatlo ‘no? (He’s also currently composing new songs for us. He mentioned that three songs are already done, right?),” Robin said.
The group consists of six members: Eric Mofar, Nico Cordova, David Karell, Robin Robell, Richard Yumul, and Orlando Sol.
According to Orlando and Enrico, the group is set to return with a new album featuring original songs, but they previously released several songs that did not gain widespread recognition due to limited promotion.
The Masculados officially began a new chapter when they returned under Universal Records in October 2025. Enrico explained that they contacted Kathleen Dy-Go, Managing Director of Universal Records, to discuss their comeback plans.
"Nakahingi kami ng meeting kasi need namin na maipresenta sana — ganyan. At hindi sila nag alinlangan na tanggapin kami (We asked for a meeting because we needed someone to introduce us, and they didn't hesitate to accept us)," Enrico shared.
Although Universal Records did not oversee their previous releases, Masculados shared that their songs were still released under the label, even when produced independently.
"Syempre sila yung nagbuo sa amin eh, hindi naman kami pwedeng pumunta sa ibang ano—sila pa rin ang nagbuo ng Masculados (Of course, they were the ones who formed us. We couldn't just go elsewhere—they are still the ones who created Masculados,” Enrico added. (Contributed by Elizza Callos, intern)
