DHSUD: Over 400 families to benefit from Occidental Mindoro mass housing
More than 400 families are set to benefit from the mass housing projects in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, the first ever horizontal housing units under the Marcos administration.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said some of the newly-completed units at the Mamburao Ville Socialized Housing Project in Barangay Payompon were already turned over to the beneficiaries.
“This is part of the efforts to accelerate the delivery of decent, affordable, and safe housing nationwide,” said Aliling.
The Mamburao Ville project spans more than 41,000 square meters and consists of 415 house-and-lot units classified as socialized housing.
He said the development includes open spaces, parks and playgrounds, and an elevated water tank to support a healthy and sustainable community.
Aliling said the strong collaboration between the government and the private sector remains vital in meeting the country's housing needs.
Upon his assumption last May, Aliling recalibrated the mass housing to include more housing modalities like horizontal development. Previously, the mass housing was only focused on vertical or condominium-type housing.
