Cops recover abandoned SUV linked to murdered lady police officer, son
AN abandoned SUV could hold vital pieces of evidence in the murder of a lady cop and her son.
The Police Regional Office-3 recovered on Saturday an abandoned Sports Utility Vehicle allegedly used in the recent killing of a policewoman and her eight-year-old child – Police Senior Master Sgt. Dianne Marie Mollenido and John Ysmael.
The vehicle, a metallic gray Toyota Fortuner with a temporary plate, was discovered at around 8:20 a.m. on Zakura St., Deca Clark Homes, Barangay Margot, Angeles City.
Their bodies were found days apart – Dianne in Pulilan, Bulacan, and John in Victoria, Tarlac.
Police said the SUV was allegedly used by the arrested suspects as a getaway and transport vehicle, particularly in moving their bodies to the areas where they were discovered. The vehicle was left in Angeles City to avoid detection.
The vehicle was secured and the area was cordoned off to preserve potential evidence.
Verification, initial investigation, and scene assessment are being conducted to determine the vehicle’s connection to the crime.
The Highway Patrol Group has been asked to verify the vehicle’s records and movements.
Police said the recovery of the SUV significantly strengthens the case against the suspects.
