Around 1,659 applicants attended the first job fair of the year, held at the Pavilion, Maybunga Rainforest Park in Barangay Maybunga on Friday, Jan. 30.
In addition to those hired on the spot, 458 applicants were also classified as near-hire, or those who still need to submit additional documents or undergo a second interview before final employment.
The job fair featured around 60 local and overseas companies. It also included a One-Stop Shop, which provided significant assistance to first-time job seekers in securing free employment-related documents, such as police and NBI clearances, and in registering with the Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, and SSS.
During the activity, applicants were also assisted and had their questions clarified through help desks from various national government agencies.
Present at the event were Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski Jr. and several members of the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod, including Councilor Paul Angelo Senogat, Chairperson of the Committee on Labor, Employment, and Manpower; Councilor Ryan Enriquez; Councilor Warren Inocencio; Councilor Boyie Raymundo; and Department of Migrant Workers – National Capital Region Regional Director Atty. Falconi Millar.
The Pasig City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the city’s first job fair of the year.
Meanwhile, the local government assured those who missed the event that more job fairs are scheduled throughout the year.
“Para sa mga hindi nakapunta sa 1st Mega Job Fair, huwag mag-alala dahil marami pang nakahandang aktibidad na katulad nito ang PESO para sa buong taon. Abangan lamang ang mga susunod na anunsyo kaugnay nito! (For those who were unable to attend the 1st Mega Job Fair, do not worry, PESO has many more similar activities planned throughout the year. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements!),” it said.
