Woman stabbed 63 times by American husband in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD CITY – A 36-year-old Filipina was stabbed 63 times by her American husband during an argument in Barangay Pinucauan, Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental province on Thursday, Jan. 29.
Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect had just arrived in their house from this city when a heated argument erupted in their room.
The suspect allegedly physically assaulted the victim and armed himself with a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim in the body.
The suspect broke a window jalousie and used the broken glass to inflict additional injuries on the victim and slash his wrist.
Police Capt. Stephen Polinar, Negros Oriental police spokesperson, said that police attempted to negotiate with the suspect but he resisted.
Lawmen barged into the room and found the victim sprawled on the floor unconscious and injured. The suspect surrendered to authorities and the victim was taken to a hospital.
Polinar said police have talked to the victim and conducting further investigation.
