A 43-year-old missing man was found dead with a stab wound in the neck near a rice field in Barangay Balelleng, Santo Tomas, Isabela on Jan. 25.
The victim, single, self-employed, and a resident of Barangay Balelleng, was reported missing since Jan. 23. The victim was last seen with a 26-year-old man headed towards the rice field.
He was discovered at around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 25 sprawled on the ground with a stab wound in the neck. The incident was reported to the police at 9:30 a.m.
Police launched a manhunt operation that led to the voluntary surrender of the suspect and the recovery of a knife allegedly used in the killing.
The suspect admitted killing the victim during investigation. He claimed that he killed the victim over the multiple sexual abuse he suffered from him in the past.
The suspect was taken to the Santo Tomas MPS for proper disposition, documentation, and further investigation.
