The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) has announced its new leadership team that will continue to foster cooperation and growth in the mobility industry. CAMPI is comprised of 29 member automotive brands accounting for 95-percent of all vehicles sold in the country. The CAMPI Board of Trustees elected Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) for the position of President again this year.
Jose Maria “Jing” Atienza, Toyota’s Executive Vice President, will serve as the new CAMPI president, succeeding Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, who has led the association for the past 14 years. Atienza is a 35-year auto industry veteran and has helmed various leadership roles in various divisions of TMP.

“As CAMPI president, I am looking forward to sustaining current and forging new partnerships to help realize CAMPI’s vision; creating new opportunities for CAMPI members and our parts suppliers; and demonstrating through concrete actions the value that CAMPI brings to industry and its various stakeholders as a partner for growth,” said Atienza.
Atienza intends to continue to advocate for industry development programs such as the Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) Program, Revitalizing the Automotive Industry for Competitiveness Enhancement (RACE) Program, and the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS). CAMPI will also push for a multi-pathways approach to carbon neutrality guided by a technology-neutral stance in the reduction of greenhouses gases.
Raising standards is also high on his priorities, with plans to continue supporting the implementation of Philippine commitments under the World Forum on Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP29) with regards to vehicle quality and safety. He will also continue to advocate the immediate ratification by the Philippines of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Type Approval for Automotive Products (APMRA) which aims to create a single standard and reduce technical barriers particularly in safety, quality, and environmental protection of vehicles sold in ASEAN.

The group also intends to expand support to human capital development to help create a resilient, innovative and productive workforce. This will be done through supporting Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the creating training regulations and competency assessment tools, as well as studying the possibility of supporting the Industrial Arts Technical-Vocational Track of the Department Education, expanding our workforce development initiatives to secondary education.
Atienza also took the time to introduce the new CAMPI officers for 2026. These include Vice-President, Atty. Rhys Alexi Murillo (Nissan Philippines); Corporate Secretary, Robert Carlos (Isuzu Philippines); Treasurer, Victor Vinarao (Mitsubishi Motors Philippines); and Assistant Treasurer, Atty. Louie Soriano (Honda Cars Philippines).
“The traditional automotive value chain is transforming into the new mobility value chain,” Atienza noted. “CAMPI will support viable changes in transportation models to help create new value streams from mobility solutions… We will surely face challenges, and we will need the support of the members and all our stakeholders to help us overcome these obstacles together.”
