A barber wanted for two counts of rape was arrested in Las Piñas City on Thursday, Jan. 29.
Col. Wilson Delos Santos, Las Piñas Police chief, said the suspect, identified as Kishi, 31, was apprehended at his residence in Barangay Almanza Dos, by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section and the personnel of Daang Hari Police Substation.
The operatives served the arrest warrant issued on November 17, 2024 by Judge Victor Ramirez Aguba of the Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court, Branch 255, with a recommended bail of P120,000.
Another warrant of arrest for the same offense, rape by sexual assault, was issued against him on December 17, 2017, by Judge Phoeve C. Meer of the Las Piñas City RTC Branch 275, also with a recommended bail of P120,000.
The suspect was detained at the Las Piñas City Police custodial facility pending the issuance of a commitment order from the issuing courts.
In a statement, Southern Police District director Brig. Gean Randy Arceo said, “Crimes of sexual violence will not be tolerated. This arrest reflects our firm resolve to protect victims, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that justice is served without delay.”
