TRABAHO Party-list recently rolled out its third Serbisyong Pang-TRABAHO job fair in Malabon City as part of its commitment to expand employment opportunities for Filipinos.
Congresswoman Johanne Bautista said Serbisyong Pang-TRABAHO--the party-list's flagship program--served an estimated 1,000 jobseekers who trooped to Malabon Citisquare Mall in Malabon City last Jan. 24.
The beneficiaries came from Malabon and nearby areas in the northern part of the metropolis.
A big part of the initiative is helping inform Filipinos about employment scams and preventing them from becoming victims.
Bautista says the "one-stop-shop" program seeks to address unemployment and underemployment among Filipino workers by providing them access not only to job vacancies, but also livelihood programs, skills development trainings, and a one-stop-shop for employment requirements and benefits.
“Ang Serbisyong Pang-TRABAHO ay hindi po lamang isang job fair. Ito po ay nagbibigay ng mga mahalagang serbisyo at oportunidad para sa trabaho (The Serbisyong Pang-TRABAHO is not merely a job fair. It provides essential services and opportunities for work)," said Bautista, a neophyte solon in the 20th Congress.
The first two iterations of the event were held in nearby cities of Caloocan and Navotas last year.
Bautista said Serbisyong Pang-TRABAHO also gathers under one roof services from the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and Land Transportation Office (LTO).
"At para po sa kapanatagan ng lahat, sa ilalim po ng pangangasiwa ng DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment) at ng DMW (Department of Migrant Workers), masisiguro po ninyo na walang scam at tunay ang mga trabaho na nandito ngayon,” said the lawyer-solon.
(And for everyone’s assurance, under the supervision of the DOLE and the DMW, you can be certain that there are no scams and that the jobs available here are real jobs.)
The two agencies ensure that all partner-employers providing local and overseas employment are legitimate and licensed by the government to conduct recruitment activities.
"Sagot din po ng TRABAHO Party-List ang mga fee para sa mga kinakailangang clearances ng ating mga ka-TRABAHO sa government agencies na ito pag sila po ay na-hire on the spot. Mayroon din po tayong libreng printing and photocopying services para sa mga resume ng ating jobseekers, at mayroon din po tayong photo studio services," noted Bautista.
(TRABAHO Party-List also shoulders the fees for the necessary clearances from government agencies when our workers are hired on the spot. We likewise provide free printing and photocopying services for the résumés of our jobseekers, as well as photo studio services.)
The pro-labor group was joined by its celebrity advocate Melai Cantiveros-Francisco during the conduct of its event.
