'The Great Pretender': Robber posing as mentally ill man arrested in Rizal

A man pretending to be mentally ill was arrested by the Rodriguez Rizal Police on Wednesday, Jan. 28, after breaking in and trying to rob a convenience store in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal.
Based on the police report, the store's staff spotted the suspect on CCTV suspiciously roving around the store, prompting them to seek immediate police assistance.
The suspect, identified as "Arturo," pretended to be mentally ill after he was apprehended by the responding officers.
Further investigation revealed that Arturo gained entry into the establishment by damaging and passing through its ceiling. He then attempted to forcibly open the store's vault, but failed to do so.
The suspect was detained at the Rodriguez Rizal Police custodial facility where necessary charges will be filed against him.
