Ospital ng Tondo earns 'Gold Award' for revenue collection efficiency
Ospital ng Tondo (OsTon) has been conferred a GOLD Award in recognition of its outstanding efficiency in revenue collection after posting a 114.3 percent collection rate in 2025, hospital officials announced.
OsTon Director Dr. Edwin C. Perez said the recognition reflects the hospital’s strong commitment to sound financial management, transparency, and accountability in handling public funds.
Perez described the achievement as proof that the hospital’s systems and personnel are effectively managing resources while ensuring the delivery of quality health services to the community.
He credited the milestone to the collective efforts of the hospital’s management, finance team, and personnel, who continue to serve the public with professionalism and dedication.
The OsTon chief added that the award further strengthens the hospital’s role as a responsible and trustworthy health institution, as well as a reliable partner of the Manila city government in advancing good governance and public service.
Perez clarified that all medical services at Ospital ng Tondo remain free, noting that the revenue cited in the award pertains solely to PhilHealth reimbursements.
He explained that under the no-balance-billing policy, patients are not charged, while PhilHealth reimburses the hospital, with the collected funds eventually returned to City Hall and redistributed to sustain free healthcare services in Manila hospitals.
The GOLD Award, Perez said, is expected to further bolster OsTon’s capacity to maintain fiscal stability while continuing to provide accessible and quality medical care to Manileños.
