One-year-old girl killed in tricycle accident

BACOLOD CITY – A one-year-old girl was killed and her mother and a driver were injured after their tricycle swerved and turned on its side in Hacienda Balandra 2, Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Police Lt. Daleen Grace Loreno, deputy chief of the Cadiz City Police Station, said the victims were on their way to the city proper when the driver lost control of the tricycle after the front fender struck the front wheel.
The tricycle crashed and the child slipped from her mother's arms. They sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital where the baby died.
Loreno said that the victim’s mother’s and the driver have reached a settlement.
