Inday Barretto, mother of Gretchen, Marjorie, and Claudine, passes away

Estrella "Inday" Barretto, the mother of movie stars Gretchen, Claudine, and Marjorie, has passed away.

Inday's passing was announced by her son, Joaquin Barretto, in a Facebook post on Jan. 29. He marked the occasion by changing his cover photo to a lit candle against a black background.

"Rest in peace, Mom, I love you," Joaquin wrote. The cause of the matriarch's death was not disclosed.

In a separate post, Claudine shared a video with her mom. She also shared a video that showed her mom's final moments in the hospital.

Claudine wrote, "Oh Mom. Estrella Castelo Barretto January 29, 2026."

In 2024, Claudine asked the public to pray for her mom, who was admitted to the hospital for lupus. Her mom had been in and out of the hospital in 2025.

Inday was married to Miguel Barretto, who passed away in 2019.

Details of Inday's wake have yet to be finalized.
