Director Lee Hansol, speaking on behalf of KBS World TV, said the first Round festival in 2020 was supposed to be held in the Philippines but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"This is a very special 'homecoming' for us, because the very first Round in 2020 was originally supposed to be held right here in the Philippines. We had to wait six years because of the pandemic, but that wait only makes this moment more meaningful,” said Lee.
NCCA Chairman Eric Zerrudo said, “We look forward to a future where the Philippines becomes a capital for performing arts in the ASEAN region — shaped by the natural talent of Filipinos, nurtured by our communities and our neighboring countries.”
According to the NCCA, people can get tickets to the free concert through online reservations in February. Claiming of tickets will be in March.
The 2026 Round in the Philippines is sponsored by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund.
