Police arrested on Wednesday, 28, a woman who had been convicted of possession of dangerous drugs in Taguig City.
The woman, identified as alias Joan, 36, was apprehended on Col. Santos Street in Barangay South Cembo, Taguig. She was tagged as the No. 6 most wanted person for January by the Taguig police.
Members of Taguig Police Warrant and Subpoena Unit implemented the arrest warrant for service of sentence issued on Jan. 14 by Presiding Judge Marivic Cudilla Vitor of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 266.
She was convicted of violating Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Following the arrest, she was turned over to the Taguig Police custodial facility pending the return of the warrant to the court.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, director of the Southern Police District, said the arrest is a clear manifestation of the district’s intensified and relentless law enforcement efforts against wanted persons and illegal drugs.
