The stretch of Claro M. Recto Avenue toward Divisoria is now noticeably cleaner, more orderly, and safer following a series of cleaning and clearing operations led by the city government through the Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMaRT).
The Manila local government said the SMaRT's initiative resulted in improved traffic flow and safer passage for motorists, shoppers, and residents in the area, which it said is known as one of the busiest commercial zones in the capital.
Obstructions along sidewalks and roadways were removed, helping restore accessibility and ease congestion.
City officials said the operation forms part of the local government’s continuing efforts to enforce road discipline and maintain public order in Manila.
Authorities emphasized that sustaining cleanliness and order in major thoroughfares is essential to ensuring public safety and convenience.
The public is once again encouraged to support city programs by complying with local ordinances and practicing proper waste disposal.
Officials stressed that cooperation from residents, vendors, and motorists is key to preserving cleanliness, order, and safety across the city.
