Policewoman found dead; 8-year-old son missing

A policewoman, a resident of Taguig, who was reported missing together with her son, was found dead wrapped in cloth and plastic in a creek along the Pulilan-Baliuag Bypass Road in the province of Bulacan on Jan. 24.
The body of Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) Diane Marie Mollenido was found in Pulilan, Bulacan, and was positively identified by her husband, Police Master Sergeant (PMSg) John L. Mollenido.
Mollenido was a resident of Village Green in Barangay Lower Bicutan,Taguig. She and her eight-year-old son, John Ysmael, were last seen on Jan. 16. They were reported missing to the Taguig Police on Jan. 19 by her husband.

It was learned that the disappearance of the victims was reported after Mollenido failed to attend the Daily Personnel Accounting Report (DPAR), a home visitation conducted by the Office of PPPS, administration on Jan. 19.
She and their son were reported missing at the Bagumbayan Police Sub-Station 12, Taguig City Police Station (CPS).
Records showed that Mollenido entered the police service on July 24, 2009. She was assigned to the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), as an Administrative Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO).
On Jan. 16, at approximately 8:57p.m., Mollenido and her son went to Novaliches, Quezon City, to sell her Toyota Innova to Romeo Carolino. The transaction was facilitated by her godchild, Pia Katrina Chua Panganiban.
On Jan. 20, Panganiban appeared at Novaliches Police Station 4 with her counsel. She claimed the transaction was completed for P450,000 after which Mollenido allegedly booked a ride in a white Toyota Avanza and departed.
Based on the Closed-circuit television (CCTV) backtracking on Jan. 25, it showed that a white Toyota Avanza bearing Plate No. NIJ 7487 passing the area at 8:59 p.m., but it could not be confirmed if the victims boarded it. The vehicle owner, Apple BZ F. Bautista, denied that the victims boarded her car and clarified that she was not a transport-for-hire driver.
Investigation revealed that Panganiban’s husband, Christian Suarez Panganiban, was a PNP member and dismissed for being Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL). Panganiban is currently considered a Person of Interest due to her possession of the gate CCTV footage she has yet to release.
Meanwhile, the victim’s son, John Ysmael remains missing.
Col Percival Zorilla, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), was present at Pulilan municipal police station to monitor the progress of the investigation and extend the necessary assistance to the bereaved family.
A team the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrived and as agreed they will be the one to take cognizance of the case.
The investigating team, composed of personnel from CIDG, Pulilan police, and Counter-Intelligence and Security Section – Regional Intelligence Division (CISS-RID), NCRPO, proceeded to the place where the dead body was discovered, to conduct an ocular investigation.

“They took your life brutally my dear cousin, but we will seek JUSTICE! Fly high and rest in peace. We love you!” a cousin of Mollenido posted on Facebook
She added, “Please help us find my nephew. He is still missing.”
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) shared the details of the missing child on Facebook.
“Fly high, Bok Diane Tacazon Gabres. Hindi ka namin makakalimutan. Hustisya ang hinihingi namin.Panagutin ang may sala. #JusticeForDiane (Fly high, Bok Diane Tacazon Gabres We will never forget you. We demand justice. Hold the guilty accountable. #JusticeForDiane),” a netizen posted on Facebook.
The Police Outreach Ministry said, “The Police Outreach Ministry extends its deepest condolences, prayers, and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family of PSMS Diane Marie G Mollenido, whose life was taken through sudden and painful circumstances. Our hearts grieve with you in this season of sorrow. May the Lord Himself be your refuge and strength, your ever-present help in this time of deep mourning. May He supply all your needs and gently wrap you in His loving arms, granting you comfort that only He can give.”
