The San Miguel star bagged a record-extending 13th Best Player of the Conference plum to add to the ever swelling number of accolades he has achieved throughout his PBA career.
Fajardo garnered a total of 1,246 points from the statistical points, media and player votes to continue his personal tradition of topping the race every conference.
The awarding, though, seemed to be carried out for formality’s sake especially after the 6-foot-10 center lorded it over in the statistical race all-conference long.
He took the pole position in the stats ladder and was never really threatened as he entered the Finals with 44.3 SPs behind averages of 16.5 points, 16.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
Converge super rookie Juan Gomez de Liano, after taking the league by storm on his first conference, finished second in the race with 732 points,
Seeing a resurgence in his career with Titan this season, Calvin Abueva, the league-leading scorer at 23.6 points per game, came in third with 622 points.
Justine Baltazar of Converge (456pts) and Zav Lucero of Magnolia (420pts) rounded out the Top 5.
Curiously, aside from Fajardo, no one among the other BPC candidates got past the quarterfinals.
