DLSU For the Kids 2026 Haraya: A Festival of Dreams
Members of the Central Committee gather during the General Assembly for FTK 2026 planning.
Celebrating the 37th anniversary of For the Kids (FTK), one of the university’s largest institutional social engagements, De La Salle University’s Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA), with its student volunteer arm Lasallian Outreach and Volunteer Effort (COSCA-LOVE), continues its longstanding dedication to inclusivity.
After eight long months of preparation, DLSU-For the Kids 2026 (DLSU-FTK 2026), with the theme “Haraya: A Festival of Dreams,” culminates on Feb. 1, 2026, at the Henry Sy Sr. Grounds, gathering volunteers, partner organizations, and children with disabilities for a day dedicated to bringing joy, spreading love, and making dreams come true.
For the Kids is a special mini-Olympics program led by COSCA-LOVE, the student volunteer arm of COSCA. Over 11,000 children with disabilities from different Special Education (SpEd) institutions throughout Luzon have benefited from FTK since its founding in 1984. The program’s main goal is to raise awareness of the daily realities of children from Center Partners who experience any of the following seven conditions: Autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, and visual impairment.

It is anticipated that 2,200 people will participate in this year’s FTK, comprising adult companions, children, volunteers, and partner representatives. The Ate-Kuya Volunteers (AKVs), members of the Lasallian community who accompany the kids during activities and cultivate special bonds through playing, caring, and shared experiences, are at the core of the event.
Recruiting Ate-Kuya Volunteers began as early as September 2025, with orientations conducted in the following months, briefing the volunteers on the participant conditions and important details. Through several activities, the AKVs were introduced to opportunities that enabled them to understand and empathize with the children they would soon meet. The Sensory Odyssey event allowed volunteers to put themselves in the children's shoes through various games and activities. The Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Seminar also gave participants a chance to learn about FSL and practice basic signing to help create a more inclusive space.
The theme “Haraya: A Festival of Dreams” embodies the event’s objective of creating special memories for the participating children. “Haraya” is a Tagalog word that means imagination, hope, and dreams. Ensuring an inclusive, joyful, and safe space for the children is a priority to make their dreams a reality.
As the day full of smiles and dreams comes closer, our beloved volunteers and partners are invited to help bring joy to the hearts of 400 children with special needs on February 1, 2026. For more details, visit COSCA-LOVE’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/COSCALOVE.
