Cops hunt down 2 suspects behind necklace robbery in Rizal

Authorities are hunting down two men who allegedly robbed a customer of a vulcanizing shop, taking a gold necklace worth P127,000 at gunpoint in Morong, Rizal on Monday, Jan. 26.
The Morong Municipal Police Station (Morong MPS) said the incident occurred at a vulcanizing shop along National Road in Sitio Paglabas, Barangay San Pedro, at around 6:20 p.m.
According to the investigation, the 43-year-old victim went to the shop to have his vehicle’s tire repaired.
While he was waiting, the suspects, identified as “Aristeo” and “Hilario,” arrived on a motorcycle. One of them said he was there to have his tire inflated.
Police said one of the suspects noticed the victim and suddenly grabbed his gold necklace, then pointed an unidentified firearm at him.
The suspects immediately fled toward the direction of Teresa, Rizal.
The victim reported the incident and later identified the suspects from a rogues’ gallery shown to him by authorities.
Authorities are conducting a dragnet to locate and arrest the suspects.
