'Walang awa': Boy buying medicine for sick brother robbed in Antipolo
A 14-year-old boy buying medicine for his sick brother was robbed by three men in Antipolo City, Rizal on Monday, Jan. 26.
Based on the Antipolo City Component Police Station (Antipolo CCPS), the victim was walking along Epheta Road in Barangay San Isidro to buy medicine for his younger brother, who was sick at that time.
Suddenly, the three suspects, identified as “Francis,” “Rancel,” and “Job,” approached the victim.
Authorities said one of the suspects was armed with a bladed weapon, which they used to threaten the victim before forcibly taking his mobile phone worth P5,000.
The suspects immediately fled the scene and escaped in an unknown direction.
Meanwhile, police said that despite being shocked and frightened by the incident, the victim was able to recognize one of the suspects and reported the incident to their barangay.
Barangay personnel immediately conducted a follow-up operation, resulting in the arrest of Francis. However, the victim’s phone was not recovered.
Francis is now detained at the Antipolo Custodial Facility, while the two others are still being pursued by authorities.
