Bloody buy-bust: Drug suspect killed in Cavite encounter
CAVITE – A drug suspect died in an encounter with the police following a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (Cavite PPO) identified the suspect as alias Tol.

During the sting operation in Bacoor City, alias Tol reportedly sensed the presence of authorities and tried to escape in a car toward Kawit, prompting the police to conduct a hot pursuit operation.
The suspect rammed several cars, including the mobile patrol of Bacoor Component City Police Station (Bacoor CCPS), during the car chase along Kawit–Cavite Road.

Alias Tol also allegedly fired his gun at pursuing officers, compelling the police to return fire along Marulas Bridge in Kawit.
The suspect sustained gunshot wounds, causing his death.

Personnel from the Provincial Forensic Unit conducted crime scene processing and evidence documentation following the incident.
In a statement, Cavite PPO Acting Provincial Director Col. Ariel R. Red said police acted in accordance with standard operating procedures.
“Ang aming mga kapulisan ay kumilos alinsunod sa batas at sa tamang pamamaraan sa harap ng malinaw at agarang banta sa kanilang buhay at sa kaligtasan ng publiko (Our police personnel acted in accordance with the law and proper procedures in the face of a clear and imminent threat to their lives and public safety),” Red said.
“Patuloy naming paiigtingin ang kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga at kriminalidad upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa lalawigan ng Cavite (We will continue to intensify our campaign against illegal drugs and criminality to maintain peace and order in the province of Cavite).”
