CAVITE – The local government unit (LGU) of Cavite City has declared Jan. 28, a Wednesday, a special non-working public holiday in observance of Julian Felipe Day.

The declaration is pursuant to Republic Act No. 7805, which honors the composer of the music of the Philippine national anthem, formerly known as “Marcha Nacional Filipina.”
This year marks the 165th birth anniversary of Felipe, born in Cavite City (then Cavite Nuevo) on Jan. 28, 1861.
