LIPA CITY, Batangas - Six Grade 12 students survived a shooting incident by a lone gunman on Monday, Jan. 26, in Barangay Marauoy, this city.
Investigation said the victims arrived in the area and one of them pressed the doorbell of the suspect’s house.
The suspect emerged from his house and fired at the victims' vehicle.
The victims fled and informed their parents who reported the incident to the police.
Police conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect.
Recovered from the suspect was an Optimus custom caliber .45 pistol with one standard magazine with two bullets.
The suspect faces appropriate charges.
Police Col. Geovanny Emerick Sibalo, Batangas police director, said: “Acts of violence such as this shooting have no place in our community. The Batangas police will ensure that perpetrators are held accountable and brought before the court to protect the safety and security of our citizens."
