A man was killed while another was left in critical condition after a drinking session between friends turned violent last Jan. 25, the San Mateo Rizal Municipal Police reported Monday, Jan. 26.
Based on the police investigation, three men were initially engaged in a drinking session in Barangay Sto. Niño, San Mateo, Rizal, when a heated argument ensued between them due to intoxication.
During the fistfight, one of the men, identified as "Jimboy," drew out a knife and stabbed one of his friends multiple times in his chest.
He subsequently attacked his other friend and stabbed him several times in his stomach before escaping.
The two victims were immediately rushed to Amang Rodriguez Hospital in Marikina, where "Herminio," who was stabbed in the chest, was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the other victim, identified as "Philip," remains confined at the hospital after undergoing surgery.
A police manhunt was launched for Jimboy's arrest.
