ILOILO CITY — Tribu Salognon of Jaro National High School in this city emerged champion in the main competition of the 2026 Dinagyang Festival here over the weekend.
Salognon bagged the title a decade after its last championship.
It bested seven other tribes in the Dinagyang Tribes competition on Sunday, Jan. 25, that highlighted the festival in honor of the Santo Niño or Child Jesus.
Salognon also pocketed Best in Choreography, Best in Production Design, Best Choreographer, and Best in Musical Direction.
It won the Dinagyang championship in 2016 and 2017.
2025 champion Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School was first runner-up.
2024 champion Tribu Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School was second runner-up.
Tribu Taga-Baryo of Barangay Obrero was third runner-up.
Jaro National High School is set to receive P10-million worth of infrastructure projects from the Iloilo City government for its achievement.
