Rider without helmet nabbed after resisting arrest, drawing gun

CAVITE – Authorities arrested a rider in Dasmariñas City after he violated traffic laws, fled from police, and allegedly drew a firearm early morning on Monday, Jan. 26.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A identified the suspect as alias Ryan.
Initial investigation said the arresting officers were conducting a routine patrol in Barangay Salawag at 1:25 a.m. when they saw the suspect driving a motorcycle without a helmet.
The police flagged down alias Ryan, but instead of complying, he sped off, prompting the authorities to conduct a hot pursuit operation.
When the operatives cornered the suspect, alias Ryan allegedly drew a firearm, leading to a scuffle with the police.
Following the altercation, the police collared the suspect and confiscated from his possession a pistol and live ammunition.
Alias Ryan is now under the custody of Dasmariñas Component City Police Station and is facing charges for resisting arrest and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
