CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna - The Police Regional Office-Calabarzon arrested 270 wanted persons -- 95 most wanted persons (MWP) and 175 other wanted persons (OWP) -- during a manhunt operation from Jan. 19 to 25.
Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, PRO 4-A director, said the operation was conducted as part of their relentless campaign to locate, track, and arrest individuals with warrants of arrest.
He added that of the 95 most wanted persons apprehended were facing charges from murder, rape, robbery, illegal drugs, and other serious offenses.
Lucas said the 175 other wanted persons were arrested for cases involving violations of the Revised Penal Code and special laws.
He credited their arrests to strengthened intelligence gathering, close coordination among operating units, and the effective implementation of focused police operations.
“This one-week accomplishment sends a clear and unmistakable message that there is no safe haven for criminals in Calabarzon. Our intensified manhunt operations will continue without letup until all wanted persons are brought before the bar of justice. PRO 4-A remains firm and uncompromising in our mandate to protect our communities and uphold the rule of law,” said Lucas.
Police encouraged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by promptly reporting the whereabouts of wanted persons.
