Police raid rental room used as drug storage in Caloocan City
Police searched a rental room in Barangay 176-D, Caloocan City–North, reportedly being used as a storage site for illegal drugs and related chemicals.
According to the report, the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) carried out the operation on Jan. 25 in line with the city government’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
The search was conducted by virtue of Search Warrant No. SW-554 issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Rodolfo Azucena Jr.
Authorities seized drug paraphernalia, including approximately 20 liters of an illegal precursor chemical allegedly used in the manufacture of prohibited drugs.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan commended the police for the conduct of the operation, stressing the local government’s firm stance against illegal drugs.
“Maraming-maraming salamat po sa CCPS sa patuloy na pagtulong sa atin na linisin ang anumang uri ng krimen sa mga komunidad, lalong-lalo na ang lahat ng mga may kinalaman sa illegal na droga (Thank you very much to CCPS for continuing to help us clean up any type of crime in our communities, especially all those related to illegal drugs),” Malapitan said.
“Uulitin ko, wala pong puwang sa ating lungsod ang presensya ng droga, at paiiralin natin ang buong pangil ng batas laban sa mga nagtatangka pa rin na ipalaganap ito sa lungsod dahil ang prayoridad natin palagi, ang kaligtasan at kinabukasan ng mga Batang Kankaloo (I repeat, there is no room for the presence of drugs in our city, and we will enforce the full force of the law against those who still attempt to spread it in the city because our priority is always the safety and future of the Kankaloo Children),” he added.
Police said the confiscated materials are being prepared as evidence for a criminal case under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities said that follow-up operations are ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect.
