Police hunt for suspects who threw Molotov cocktail in Taguig
The Taguig police are looking for the suspects who were responsible for throwing a Molotov cocktail outside the gate of a home.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 on Cabasaan Street in Barangay Central Signal, Taguig.
The victim, identified with the initials SCB, 24, told the police that while he and his companions were having a drinking session inside their compound, several male individuals threw a Molotov cocktail (improvised incendiary device) in front of their gate before fleeing. No one was injured.
CCTV footage of the incident was posted on Facebook showing eight male individuals wearing face masks arriving in the area on an e-bike.
They alighted from the e-bike and went in front of the gate. Some of them kicked motorcycles that were parked and walked away.
One of them threw a Molotov cocktail which landed outside the gate of a home and fled.
The Taguig police said on Jan. 22, personnel from the Police Sub-station 6 went to the area to verify the incident in coordination with the barangay.
"At present, Sub-Station 6 personnel, in coordination with BSF Central Signal, are conducting follow-up operations, including CCTV backtracking, to identify the suspects and facilitate the filing of appropriate charges against those responsible," the police said.
They added, "Meanwhile, intensified police visibility through Oplan Galugad, mobile patrols, and other police operations continues to be implemented to prevent similar incidents and ensure public safety. Residents are also reminded to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 911 for prompt police response."
