The 21 essential medicines covered under the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) remain available this year in YAKAP-accredited primary care facilities nationwide, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) said.
In a statement, PhilHealth President and CEO Edwin Mercado said members can continue to access the 21 essential medicines at their chosen YAKAP-accredited clinics as PhilHealth works to further improve the benefits under the YAKAP and GAMOT programs.
“Makakaasa po ang lahat ng Pilipino na patuloy silang makakakuha nitong 21 na mga gamot sa kanilang napiling YAKAP Clinic, habang mas lalo naming pinagbubuti ang mga benepisyo ng PhilHealth YAKAP at GAMOT (All Filipinos can be assured that they can continue to obtain these 21 medicines from their chosen YAKAP Clinic, as we further improve the benefits of PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT),” he said on Friday, Jan. 23.
According to the state health insurer, the list of medicines includes Amoxicillin, Co-amoxiclav, Cotrimoxazole, Nitrofurantoin, Ciprofloxacin, Clarithromycin, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), Prednisone, Salbutamol, Fluticasone + Salmeterol, Paracetamol, Gliclazide, Metformin, Simvastatin, Enalapril, Metoprolol, Amlodipine, Hydrochlorothiazide, Losartan, Aspirin, and Chlorphenamine.
PhilHealth said members may continue to access the covered medicines through the YAKAP-accredited clinics where they are empaneled, stressing that this ensures timely treatment and continuity of care.
The state health insurer also reminded partner YAKAP providers to maintain sufficient stocks of the covered medicines and to comply with service standards under the program.
“Patuloy po ang aming pagsisikap na pagbutihin pa ang paghahatid ng aming serbisyo sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga YAKAP providers upang patuloy pang magkaroon ng kapanagatagan ang lahat ng Pilipinong umaasa sa PhilHealth (We continue to exert efforts to further improve the delivery of our services through ongoing coordination with YAKAP providers so that Filipinos who rely on PhilHealth can continue to have peace of mind),” said Mercado.
