Town fiesta breakfast in Tanay, Rizal gathers hundreds of balikbayans

Hundreds of balikbayans, including Overseas Filipino Works (OFWs), will gather on Jan. 24, Saturday, in Tanay, Rizal to celebrate the town fiesta through a breakfast event hosted by the municipal government.
Mayor Rex "Manuel" Tanjuatco will lead local government officials in welcoming balikbayans (returning Filipinos) at the municipal grounds.
The event has become an annual tradition sponsored by the local government to honor and recognize returning Filipinos who now reside abroad but were once residents of the municipality, which is known for its scenic landscapes, recreational areas, coffee shops, and restaurants.
The breakfast gathering is held yearly as part of the town fiesta, which also commemorates the anniversary of the establishment of San Ildefonso Parish Church in between 1763 to 1783.
Several marching bands will perform for the balikbayan visitors during the event.
On Jan. 25, some balikbayans and OFWs will tour the town's popular destinations to experience its rich culture, fascinating history, and breathtaking natural wonders.
A 9 a.m. fiesta Mass was held on Jan. 23, officiated by Antipolo Bishop Ruperto C. Santos as part of the church activities.
Other church-related events on Jan. 24 include Holy Masses at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., a motorcade from the church to Sitio Inalsan, followed by a Holy Mass and feeding program in the morning, and a procession in the evening.
