The Pasay City government said it immediately coordinated with national agencies to facilitate the prompt repainting and restoration of faded and unclear road markings along Roxas Boulevard, following a complaint from a motorist that recently went viral on social media.

The city government acknowledged the concern and assured the public that it remains attentive to issues affecting road safety and traffic order.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said that immediate coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was undertaken to facilitate the prompt repainting and restoration of the affected road markings.

The Pasay Traffic and Parking Management Office (PTPMO) will also temporarily suspend the apprehension of traffic violators in the affected area. Additional traffic enforcers will also be deployed to assist motorists during the repainting and restoration works.

The mayor emphasized that clear and visible road markings are essential in guiding both motorists and pedestrians, especially along major thoroughfares such as Roxas Boulevard.

Rubiano said that based on the inspection conducted by the Pasay TPMO, some road markings have faded due to extreme heat, the continuous flow of vehicles, and ongoing road construction in the area.

The city government reiterated that it remains open to meaningful feedback from the public, noting that reports and concerns from residents and motorists help improve city services.

Motorists are encouraged to continue coordinating with the city government and to report similar concerns through proper channels to help maintain safe and orderly roads in Pasay City.
