Muntinlupa LGU starts distribution of health emergency allowance
The Muntinlupa City government started the distribution of the Health Emergency Allowance (HEA) to health workers on Jan. 23.
The HEA is a national government-funded program for those who worked in risk areas during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO) announced that the distribution of HEA will be by schedule.
On Jan. 23, those who claimed the HEA were non-government support staff, contact tracers, and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) who had not received the allowance.
The distribution was done at the City Treasurer’s Office at the Muntinlupa City hall.
“Para sa mga hindi pa kabilang sa nabanggit na grupo, antabayanan ang susunod na anunsyo para sa inyong schedule ng pag-claim ng HEA. Upang maging maayos ang proseso at maiwasan ang mahabang paghihintay, pinapaalala natin na pumunta lamang sa itinakdang araw at oras ng kanilang schedule (For those who are not yet included in the aforementioned group, stay tuned for the next announcement for your HEA claim schedule. To ensure a smooth process and avoid long waits, we remind you to only come on the designated day and time of your schedule),” the CHO stated.
A total of P6.77 Billion was allotted by the national government for HEA nationwide coming from the 2026 General Appropriations Act.
For Muntinlupa, P36 million was downloaded by the Department of Health (DOH).
The Department of Budget and Management announced in 2022 that “qualified health workers refer to medical, allied medical, and other personnel assigned in hospitals and health care facilities, and who are directly catering to or in contact with COVID-19 patients, persons under investigation (PUIs) or persons under monitoring (PUMs).”
The HEA categories were based on risk exposure. Those deployed in "low risk areas" were entitled to at least P3,000; those deployed in "medium risk areas" would receive at least P6,000; and those in "high risk areas" would get at least P9,000.
