Man arrested for stealing laundry basket, aircon from Marikina house

A 25-year-old man was arrested for stealing items from a house in Marikina City, including an air conditioner and a laundry basket, on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 22.
The Marikina City Police Station said the incident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. in Barangay Concepcion Uno, Marikina City.
According to the victim, he went out to visit a friend, and when he returned, he saw the suspect leaving his house while carrying his belongings.
This prompted him to seek assistance from his neighbors, who helped restrain the suspect from escaping.
At the time, a police officer from Sub-Station 6 was patrolling the area, allowing the victim to seek help, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
Recovered from the suspect were a gas tank worth P1,400; a laundry basket worth P200; two electric fans worth P1,500; and an electric stove worth P1,000.
However, some belongings of the victim, including a Condura air conditioner worth P11,000 and a laptop worth P15,000, were not recovered.
The suspect is now under police custody and will face theft charges.
