'It was a bloody war': Fans scramble to buy BTS concert tickets
Fans, including Filipinos, scrambled to purchase tickets to the upcoming BTS “Arirang” world tour in North America, Europe and South Korea.
BTS will kick off their world tour in Goyang, South Korea on April 9, 11, and 12 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium, before heading to different countries.
Big Hit Music have announced the Army Membership Presale for those who are members of the BTS fan club on the Weverse app.
One of the lucky ones who purchased tickets in the US was "May," a Filipino-American. She got tickets to the BTS concert to be held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in September.
“I can't even tell you all how happy I am right now. We won the ticketing war for BTS concert tickets. Can it be September tomorrow already pleaseeeee!” the fan said.
She paid $249.50 for a BTS concert ticket plus service fee for a total of about $300.
“It was a bloody war,” was how she described the effort to queue online just to get tickets.
She said, “Pag BTS kasi parang war na talaga eh. Yung ibang kpop group dito hindi naman ganyan. BTS lang talaga ang medyo madugo ang labanan. (When it comes to BTS, it's really like a war. The other kpop groups here aren't like that. It’s really a bit bloody fight when it comes to BTS).”
BTS will hold the Arirang world tour in the Philippines on March 13 and 14 next year. No details have been announced yet on the venue and ticket prices.
Based on the official announcement of Big Hit Music, ticket prices for BTS’ Goyang concert in South Korea are 264,000 won (about $180) for the Sound Check tier, 220,000 won (about $150) for General R, and 198,000 won (about $135) for General S. One person can purchase one ticket for each day.
There is also the Play & Stay deal for the Korean concert where fans can purchase a ticket and two nights of hotel accommodation. The package deal prices range from 920,000 won (about $627.58) to 1.89 million won (about $1,289).
The BTS concert will feature a 360-degree stage “with no designated front stage location.”
