China coast guard rescues 13 Filipinos after vessel capsized off Bajo de Masinloc

China’s coast guard has rescued 13 Filipinos after their Singaporean-flagged ship capsized in the waters off Bajo de Masinloc early Friday morning, Jan. 23.
Photos released by the Chinese Embassy in Manila showed how the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) pulled off the search and rescue for Filipinos and how they were offered assistance following the operation.
The rescue came after the embassy said the CCG received a report from the Maritime Search and Rescue Center of Sansha City in Hainan province that a foreign cargo vessel capsized at around 1:34 a.m. in the waters northwest of Bajo de Masinloc (known as Huangyan Dao in China).
There were 21 Filipino crew members who were actually onboard.
“China Coast Guard immediately dispatched two vessels to the site for search and rescue. As of now, 13 crew members have been rescued, and rescue operations are ongoing,” the embassy said.
