With the Malaysian powerhouse team already at match point, the Filipinos showed unwavering resolve in the last two games, coming out victorious in the important clashes to book a spot to the finals.
Aurora had to overcome a slow start in Game 4 but managed to recover behind key pickoffs. The Filipinos took over the entire map as soon as they turned things around with Edward “Edward” Dapadap securing a crucial Lord at the 13th minute mark.
The Northern Lights held the lead from there and then fended off the comeback attempt from SRG during the Lord dance with 21 minutes into the contest.
Yums caught Domengkite using the Way of the Dragon ultimate of his Chou but Aurora went for the punishment and took out four SRG heroes to force the decider.
After a 0-3-0 start, Edward recovered and finished with a 1-4-7 line on Yu Zhong while Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo were spotless with 5-0-6 and 5-0-8 KDAs on the Fredrinn and Kimmy picks, respectively.
The momentum carried over to Game 5 as Aurora, just like in Game 4, seized full control of the map. Demonkite on the Akai was untouchable on the jungle area securing all three turtles and five Lord objectives in the contest.
The last of which, however, would not happen if not for the well-executed play from Aurora during the Lord clash at the 23rd minute mark.
Dylan “Light” Catipon went for the backline and forced SRG to awkward positions resulting in Aurora not only securing the Lord objective but also eliminating all members of the Malaysian squad.
