4 soldiers killed in Lanao del Norte ambush

Four soldiers were killed and another was wounded in an ambush in Purok 1, Barangay Liningding, Munai, Lanao del Norte on Friday morning.

The victims were on board a blue Toyota Avanza when they were shot by individuals believed to be members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group.

The fatalities were not identified. Their bodies have been recovered and the wounded has been provided medical assistance.

Clearing and pursuit operations are ongoing against the gunmen.

Troops are coordinating with local authorities for the safety and security of the area.
